Meet Taylor.
10-year-old artist. Former competitive gymnast. Full-time cat mom in training.
The Gymnast
Where it started
Taylor trained as a competitive Level 5 gymnast at World Champions Centre, dedicating up to 20 hours a week to the sport — which meant homeschooling so she could focus on training. Like all gymnasts, she wasn't allowed to wear press-on nails at the gym. So on her days off, putting on a fresh set of press-ons was her favorite treat.
The Pivot
From gym mats to gel art
When Taylor developed a mental block in gymnastics, she began leaning into something that felt more creative and fulfilling: making press-on nails. Pretty nails were her reward and her little escape. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion — she practiced daily, layering upgrades like 3D flowers, cat-eye gel, rhinestones, chrome, and gold flakes until her sets went from "not so good" to what they are today.
Now she spends her free time designing new sets inspired by trends she finds on TikTok and Pinterest. Every set is hand-sculpted entirely by Taylor, taking anywhere from one to five hours to create.
The Business
A cat, a plan, and a business
Taylor has always been obsessed with cats. She asked her mom for one every single day — and every single day, the answer was no. So she decided to solve the problem herself. She told her mom: "I'll just buy my own cat by selling press-on nails." And just like that, GELightful was born.
Taylor already visits and cares for 18 stray cats at one of her dad's RV parks — buying kitten food for the kittens and adult food for the adults, out of her own pocket. She's even named one: Oliver, a sweet deaf cat with light turquoise eyes. She's basically a cat mom already. She just needs one that's officially hers.

She's done her first market and sold more than expected — now she's chasing as many markets as she can before the year ends. Her Holiday Collection is already in the works, coming later this fall.
